I was recently asked to join a wonderful female artists collective called The Splendor Device by the oh-so-fabulous Kelly Castillo. Babes, art and more babes… what’s not to love? I’ll be taking part in my first group show with the lovely ladies in March. Unfortunately, the opening night is on the same night as my show with Michael Harnish at F+ Gallery in Santa Ana, but there is a second opening a few days later, so all is not lost. (The crowd goes wild.) The theme of the Splendor Device group show is “The Wilde Abyss” and it is based on a passage from John Milton’s Paradise Lost. In the excerpt there is a reference to the elements, fire, shore, sea and air. So I decided to paint those elements as they would be embodied if they were bodacious babes. Check out the progress shots below for some of the process.
